Diplodocus Vertebrae

I’m sure most of you are looking at the picture above and wondering what the heck it is! Well, this morning Amanda and I headed to Rabbit Valley so that we could finally take a hike that we drive by almost every weekend…the Trail Through Time. It was a pretty short hike, but there were a number of informative stops along the way. In the photo above, the darker areas are part of the vertebrae of a juvenile Diplodocus. Below is a diagram that might help show what you are looking at.
