Finally got my 2000 XJ back out of the garage today after a week stuck in there. I cut off the spring perches and and fixed my pinion angle, added slightly taller shackles, and took care of some other routine maintenance items.
Now it’s ready for the trip to Grand Junction 🙂

There’s been a few issues with my 2000 that I have needed to take care of for a while. The biggest issue being my pinion angle being a little off. I spent some time in the garage today and was able to take care of that.
Of course, while I was working on that, I found a few other things I need to take care of, so my Jeep’s probably going to be apart for a few more days.
Here’s a few pictures.
Installed RE shackles for a slightly higher lift in the rear to even it out. Getting ready to pull the axle.
Setting up the perches again after cutting them off the axle tube
Perch welded back on
Cover was leaking oil and the axle shafts need to be removed. That’s how I left it for the night.

Just a quick update from this weekend. I managed to get my rock rails back on the Jeep finally, after having to remove them for the stiffeners I installed back in December. I could have easily just welded them to the stiffeners, but I wanted them to remain removable. Here’s the solution I came up with. It seems to have worked well 🙂

That’s right! It has been exactly one year since I brought my 2000 XJ home for the first time. Here’s the original post.
It’s amazing what I managed to get done to it in the last year, and the places I went with it.
Hopefully this next year will be another good year of wheeling for me, and I will get to explore a lot more backroads 🙂

Today (well actually November, but it hasn’t changed much since then):

Well, after spending 18 hours working on my Jeep yesterday with the held of Zach and Joe, we managed to get my T&T Y-Link suspension installed along with the T&T Stiffeners and Dana 30 truss. Also managed to get my RuffStuff 8.25 cover on and shaved the bottom of the 8.25 housing.
Here are some pictures from the day.

I started myself on fire a few times 😉
