Cage Gussets
Added some gussets to my cage tonight, since I am waiting for some more parts and steel before I can really get working on this thing again

Got rid of my beat up roller fairlead
….for a new hawse fairlead
I always hit my roller fairlead, so I wanted something smaller (besides, I had hit the roller one so much, that it didn’t roll anymore anyways).
Once I build my new front bumper later this summer, it will offer even better approach angle
finished the passenger side door bar today
kicked out for maximum room
I have landed on my tube doors too many times, causing the hinges to get messed up, preventing the doors from closing easily and properly……so it is time for them to go.
In place of them I am adding door bars to my cage. I started on the driver’s side today. Here’s a few pics.

I added two bends to kick the bar out as far as possible for maximum room

After my trip to Moab and Colorado I noticed that I had hit my rockers hard enough to buckle my floor a little. So I have started working on tying the rockers and cage into the framerail.
I started out by making some wedges
The wedges will sit up against the bottom of the floor between the rocker and the framerail (which is plated with 3/16″ steel).
I will have 3 of these on each side. The front and rear ones will bolt through the floor and through the plates welded to the floor that my cage is welded to
The middle one on each side will just be welded to the rocker and framerail
Once all the wedges are welded in place, they will be covered with 3/16″ plate so the bottom is smooth and the wedges will not get caught on rocks, etc….
More pics as I progress
