New Trail Maps
I have not been very happy with the maps I have been using for my trail writeups, so I spent some time working on better maps with more waypoints added this evening. I’ll be working on updating the trail writeups over the next few weeks/months as well as posting better Google Earth KML files.
Here’s a few of the maps I have completed this evening 🙂

San Juans Day Trip Trail Map
Here’s a map I made in Google Earth of the trails that we ran on Saturday. In the order that we ran them…
Pink: Poughkeepsie Gulch
Blue: Hurricane Pass
Yellow: Corkscrew Pass
Orange: Brown Mountain
Dark Red: US Basin & Browns Gulch
Green: Porphyry Basin
Elk Mountains Trail Map
Here’s a map of all the trails I ran in the Elk Mountains last weekend. It includes these trails (from top to bottom for duplicate colors):
Green: Lead King Basin
Blue: Crystal City
Yellow: Schofield Pass
Orange: Rustler Gulch
Red: Gothic Road
Green: Paradise Basin
Purple: Washington Gulch
Yellow: Gunsight Pass
Light Blue: Kebler Pass
If you would like a GPS track of these trails, check out each individual trail writeup on my site 🙂
Coal Canyon GPX Track
Here’s the GPX track and a map from our short trip yesterday. This track follows Coal Canyon from the Cameo exit along I-70 and heads to the first overlook.
There are more trails in this area that can be explored (which I will continue to do).
