Well, it looks like my footwear needs are finally met for a while (until I need something warm for the snow this winter…). I have needed a good pair of sandals for a while, and I finally picked up a pair today from REI.
I ended up getting the Chaco Z/1 Unaweep sandals in black. Made by a company located in Paonia, CO (not too far from GJ)….unfortunately they are no longer made locally.
So far they are comfortable, but only time will tell how much I like them, and how well they hold up. I just wish I had them yesterday on the river!

That’s right, my Jeep is staying home this weekend while Amanda and I head to Denver. We’re going on a little road trip and then checking out the Denver Zoo and Aquarium. Plus we are going to eat at a few restaurants that we don’t have here in Grand Junction 🙂
It’s looking like we might go rafting near Moab on Monday, too! Photos when we return 🙂

Just leaving work early to meet up with my friend from Canada, Jan in Ouray. I’m going to be showing him around the San Juan Triangle this weekend. It should be a nice relaxing weekend 🙂
I’ll have my SPOT on as usual, so feel free to follow along. Photos when I return, of course 😉

Well, because of the price drop last week, I finally decided to pickup a Playstation 3. I was looking into getting the new ‘Slim’ but really preferred the style of the old system, so that’s what I ended up getting.
While there are a few games I am interested in, my biggest reasons for picking up the PS3 are so that I can use it as a media hub for my living room….plus I needed a blue-ray player anyways 😉

Since Friday I have worn my new Keen’s to work, in the mountains and in the desert. Yesteray in the mountains, I made sure to test the waterproofness by walking through a few streams. I got to do a few miles of hiking in them this morning in the canyons and washes at the Colorado National Monument. I also did some minor climbing in them on some sandstone.
Overall, I am very pleased with their performance and their comfort. Now I just need to see how well they hold up in the longer term 🙂
