Amanda and I are leaving after work this evening and driving back to Illinois. The main reason is that my sister is getting married on Friday, so I need to attend the wedding.
But another benefit of going back to Illinois is that I can pickup my 1992 XJ that I had to leave behind when i moved out here 😉 So I’ll be hauling an empty trailer back to IL and bringing back my other XJ. Unfortunately, once I get it back here it needs a lot of work and money thrown into it so I can get it back on the trails again….

Finally, my new license plates have shown up. I ordered these things right after I first registered my Jeep here in CO back in April.

After being invited to a new website that Kurt Williams has put together over at ExpeditionUtah.com, I thought he had a great idea. After checking to see if ExpeditionColorado.com was available, I decided it would be a great idea to start a forum similar for the state of Colorado.
In the future, when both of our forums are a little more mature, we are planning on working together on some projects. We are also hoping to see some other Western states added down the road at some point, too.
If you have a chance, check out ExpeditionColorado.com

We got to use our new Kelty Grand Mesa 4 tent this weekend for the first time, and both Amanda and I agree, that we made a good decision with this tent.
We did not have a chance to test setting it up before leaving on our trip this weekend, so our very first time setting it up was at Comb Wash campground in the dark. Even with the darkness, we managed to get the tent setup in approximately 5 minutes. We were looking for a tent that was easy to setup, and I think we found it.
Also, it poured on us all night the first night we were there, and the tent did an excellent job of keeping us dry. There was plenty of room for the both of us with some of our gear inside, and entering/exiting the tent is very easy with the large door opening on the front.
