Nozzleram, you will be missed!

Here’s a message Doug Heine’s (AKA nozzleram) wife sent out a little earlier today.

For those of you who do not know. Doug Heine, my husband of 20 years, died Friday, September 7th in a car accident in Goshen, Indiana at @ 10:25 AM. We think that he may have had a coronary event that caused him to loose control of the vehicle which then crossed the double yellow lines and struck an oncoming semi. He was killed instantly.”

Doug will be missed greatly by me. I have wheeled with him a number of times, and we had a great time last year at Windrock and Tellico. I know he had a great time that trip as well, since he told me a number of times. I’ve helped him on the trail and he’s helped me. We also had some great times hanging out and working on misc. projects at Zack’s shop. He had a great personality and was easy to get along with. I’m now glad that I went with him to The Badlands last month and wheeled with him for the final time.

Here’s a few pictures of the good times 🙂

Lack of Updates

Well, things have got a little slow here, and will probably stay this way for a little bit. Still recovering financially from my trip, so that means no upcoming trips or progress on my Jeeps for a little bit. I have been cleaning the garage and getting ready to start working on my 1992 XJ again. First purchase before I can do that, will be a JD2 Model 3 tube bender 😉

Also, I have been working on an article for a magazine about my trip. Hopefully that will get finished soon and published. Definitely will keep you updated about that 🙂

Home again.

Well, after 5206 miles, I am finally home. A day earlier than I planned, but that’s OK, because I’m exhausted and need a day of sleep and recovery before I head back to work on Tuesday.

I’ll get my pics from the Badlands up later tonight.

🙂

IntrepidXpedition 2007: Day 1

Well, here I am sitting in my cube at work, waiting to get out of here later this afternoon and start my way to Colorado.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to stop somewhere along the way this evening and re-pack my Jeep using my roof rack. Last night we had some pretty bad storms here that gave us a lot of rain, so I was unable to load up my roof rack……so for now, I have just thrown everything into the back.

Hopefully I will be able to post some updates and pictures when I am on the road, so make sure to stop by here often and check them out!

Did I mention I can’t wait to get out of here? 😀

EDIT (12:31): Got my stuff in the roof rack at lunchtime, so no more need for me to stop along the way and take care of that! 🙂

Clean Garage

Well, in order to make room to install the new suspension on my 2000, I decided to clean up the right side my garage. I don’t think it has ever been this clean….even when I first moved into this house 😉

Now to get going on the install sometime this week 😀
