T-Minus 41 Days

Just counted, and there are only 41 days until I am supposed to leave on my long 2+ week expedition in my new 2000 XJ. I have a lot of work to finish in that time, and sure hope I can pull it off. I’m kinda getting worried. I have a whole Jeep that I need to build in that time…..

Wish me luck…..and if you live close and want to help out one weekend, let me know! I can always use an extra hand 😉

Working in the cold wet snow sucks!

Working in the cold and wet snow sucks! Too bad Brian’s Jeep was too tall to fit in my garage.

Nope, not enough room

Guess we will work on it like that……the heater doesn’t work well with the door open

Detroit locker in

Brian cutting the new plate to cover up where the vacuum disconnect motor used to be

my jeep got to park out in the snow all morning

Zach saved me, now I returned the favor

You might remember that my tranny went out on the way back from Tellico in July. Zach saved me by getting his companies tow truck and picking me up near Lafayette, Indiana.

When he made it to The Cliffs this morning, the fuel pump on his truck went out. So I got to drive him back to the shop to get the same tow truck.

Here’s a few pics 🙂

Zach to the recsue…

On my way back home from Tellico near Layfayette, Indiana (a few hours from home still)….the transmission in my Expedition went out. I called Zach, and thankfully he was able to come and get me with his companies tow truck and get my stuff to his shop in Peotone.

Fun in Kentucky

Heading down I-64 in KY at about 65 I hear a loud pop and then my ride got really rough.

I changed it on the shoulder with my full sized spare and then went to the next exit where there was a Walmart and got a new tire

It set me back almost 2 hours

Anyways, I’m here by Windrock now….so all is good.
