That’s the code for our first hidden geocache named ‘Delicate View’. It was just approved this evening and is now ready to be found. Check it out here:
As I mentioned in the previous post, one of my goals for this year was to hide a geocache. I’ve been slowing finding them for the last couple of years but had never hid one. I guess my main reason for not hiding one before, is because I wanted to put one in a great location. This one is located on Winter Camp Ridge which is just north of Arches National Park. The view from the end of the road is outstanding. Now we are just curious how long it will be until someone heads out that way to find it…
Here’s a few photos from yesterday while we were out hiding it.
View from the cache. Yep, you can see the top of Delicate Arch from here.
Great views over the sandstone bowl/canyon
The ‘little used’ road to get there

One of my many goals this year was to reach my 100th geocache. So while we were out yesterday evening hiding our first geocache (more info on that later; it was a different goal of mine for this year), Amanda and I searched for our 100th together…and succeeded. Here’s a few photos from our evening.

We also found our 101st cache near the Parco Mines.

Amanda’s mom and sister spent the last two weeks with us here in Grand Junction. While they were here we spent some time showing them around not only here, but also in Moab, Silverton and Ouray….to name a few places. Here’s some random photos I took while we were out and about….

I’ve been thinking about picking up a new tent for myself when I am camping alone without Amanda and was looking for something that is very quick and easy to setup. After doing some research I have decided to give the Kamp-Rite Oversize TentCot a try. It meets all the criteria that I was looking for. It can be setup in just a minute or two and it will keep me up off the ground and more comfortable. The oversize model is plenty long for someone my height (6’5″) and the domed roof allows me to sit up inside.
I’m looking forward to trying it out on my Colorado Adventure in just a few weeks 🙂

Just made it home from my Hole-in-the-Rock trip. It was a great 5 days camping in Southern Utah and the weather was just about perfect. Now I have a lot of catch up with, so once I start going through my photos from the trip, expect a bunch of new posts here 🙂
