Lake Canyon
Here’s a photo of Lake Canyon with the Henry Mountains in the background. This one was taken from the washout of the old Jeep trail that went through this canyon. When the Hole-in-the-Rock pioneers crossed this canyon, they crossed on a sand dam that had formed Pagahrit Lake. This dam washed out in 1915 and the lake disappeared. What was left behind was a canyon that had filled with sand. With the dam and lake gone, this sand is slowly being washed out of the canyon by storms and flash floods. This removal of sand has caused two different Jeep routes across the canyon to be completely washed away. This photo is looking down canyon from the current state of the washout.

Castle Ruins
On my way to the Hole-in-the-Rock Trail, I made a stop at the Castle Ruins. I wanted to give this photo the impression of being older, so I went ahead and converted it to black and white. Kind of like a photo the early explorers might have taken of it. I like the way it turned out.

Scratched Turn Signal
Today’s photo is of my 2000 Jeep Cherokee again. Here we have the front turn signals with the headlight behind them. As you can see, the front corner of my Jeep is pretty scratched up from squeezing my Jeep through tight trails. I’m trying to avoid that with my new JK, but didn’t do such a great job last Sunday….

Colors in the Wind
Thought I would take a photo of something colorful that blows in the wind on this cold and windy day in the Grand Valley.

Chaco
Since I got myself an awesome deal on a new pair of Chaco Unaweap sandals today at REI, I figured that I’d take a photo of them for today’s picture. I love my black Chaco sandals, so I was very happy to get a great deal on a second pair.
