Full Moon

I’ve wanted to try and get some pictures of the moon many times before, but until recently never had a lens that was even close to handling that task. While a lens with more zoom than 250mm would work even better, I’m happy with the results I can get at 250mm on my new lens. I practiced a few nights ago and then hoped to get a good shot of the full moon tonight. It was pretty clear most of the day, but as soon as the sun went down, the clouds rolled in. Luckily, I went out a little later and managed to get a photo of the moon while it was in an opening in the clouds.

Bonus Photo: Desert Grass

After hiking the Serpents Trail at the Colorado National Monument earlier today, I stopped at one of the overlooks to take some photos for my project. Here’s the one I chose as a backup in case the moon photo didn’t end up working out.

Ski Day

After skiing all day at Powderhorn today, I put all my gear in the back of my Jeep and thought I would take a photo of it.

Keep Out!

I’m still playing around with my new telephoto zoom lens and closeup shots. Here’s one of a padlock that is on the shed in my backyard.

Dirty Fender

Todays photo is a closeup of one of the the aluminum fenders on my trailer. It hasn’t been washed in quite a while and is a bit dirty. I liked the detail of the pattern in the metal along with the reflection of the sunlight on the left side.

Poison Spyder

Yesterday I received an evaporative cannister skid plate for my JK from Poison Spyder Customs. I thought the logo cut into the skid might make a good photo if I put a white piece of paper behind it. The photo above is what I ended up with.
