Sacred Images
I got this book the other day when I got my new camera lens. I had passed up getting this book many times before, but now that I have actually read through it, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to get it. It was a very interesting read, plus there are a number of great photos throughout it!

Mill Creek Canyon / Kane Creek Canyon / Bartlett Panel
On Sunday I headed back to Moab to search out some rock art in Mill Creek Canyon. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to hike up canyon as far as I had hoped, but I did manage to get to these boulders covered in petroglyphs.

Mill Creek Shaman
Since I wasn’t able to get any further up Mill Creek I headed back and grabbed some lunch in town. Then I made my way back to Kane Creek Canyon to take a few more photos.

After leaving Kane Creek I made my way over to the Bartlett Pictograph Panel.
Looking Up
After scouting out an area that I plan to explore once the snow melts for good, I headed back home.

Tripod
With the new camera and lenses, I needed a tripod that could handle the heavier weights. This new carbon fiber tripod that just arrived today can handle more weight than my old one and still manages to weigh the same.

My new Canon 100-400mm lens got here today. I can’t wait to really try it out this weekend! That’s two lenses down, only one more to get before my next big trip in April….

Kane Creek Canyon & Potash Road
On Saturday, Amanada and I headed back to Moab in search of rock art. We headed to Kane Creek Canyon and climbed up a side canyon filled with petroglyphs. We ended up hiking all the way over to Pritchett Canyon. Here’s a few photos from our hike.

After finishing up in Kane Creek Canyon we headed into town and grabbed some dinner. Before heading home we made our way down Potash Road again to re-photograph some panels that were in bad light last weekend.
