2011-Twelve | January

It’s the last day of January, and that means it’s time for me to get the first post from my 2011-Twelve Photo Project up. I’ve gone back through all of the photos I’ve taken this month and chosen my favorite.

Pastel Alcove Ruin
Pastel Alcove Ruin

I chose this photo because it was a new and interesting ruin that I visited for the first time, plus I really enjoyed the pastel colors of the alcove that it sits in.

I’ve decided that I am also going to post up one or two runners-up each month just so you can see which ones I had to decide between. Here are two other photos I took during January that I like a lot, but didn’t quite get my top pick.

30-365 | Day 355

32GB

21 megapixels means I need a lot of memory to get through the weekends. I’ve been getting disappointed with Amazon’s free shipping lately. I ordered this memory card the same day I ordered my camera, and it arrived almost a week later….

30-365 | Day 354

BirdMen

I found these petroglyphs while hiking up Mill Creek Canyon near Moab today. All of the figures appear to have wings, so I’m calling them the BirdMen.

30-365 | Day 353

Many Sheep

Amanda and I headed back to the Moab area today to search out some more rock art. Here’s a new panel that I hadn’t been to before. It’s also the first photo in my 30-365 Project taken with my new camera 🙂
